The wavelength. Ordinary UVC germicidal lamps emit at 254nm and can only run in vacant rooms. This excimer lamp emits at 222nm far-UVC, which is intended to sanitize while people are present, making it suited to hotels, offices and homes during normal use.

The lamp is offered in 30W, 60W, 100W and 150W. Lower wattages (30–60W) suit single small rooms and apartments, while 100W and 150W cover larger or open-plan spaces. Match the output to the area you need to treat.
