What does an island hood do that a wall canopy can't?
It captures across its full perimeter, so a cooking suite standing free in the room is covered from all four sides — the layout a wall-mounted canopy simply cannot reach on a buffet station or show kitchen.
What airflow does it move, and what size line does that cover?
Extraction is rated at 21 m³/min or more across a 1200 mm diameter canopy, which is the working envelope to plan against: keep the cooking line within that footprint so rising smoke stays under the capture area.
Does it need a duct to outside, or can it recirculate?
Ducted only — this is a vented hood that exhausts outdoors rather than filtering and returning air, so an island position needs a duct route planned through the ceiling before the canopy is hung.
Are the grease filters replaceable consumables?
No, the stainless steel baffle filters lift out and go through a dishwasher or sink, then back in. Cleaning them on a routine keeps airflow steady and stops the grease load that makes a neglected hood a fire risk.
What power does it draw, and what comes with it?
