A tankless water heater warms water as it runs through the unit, so a guest shower or a utility sink has hot water within seconds and there is no tank losing heat overnight. Ours are wall-mounted electric models from 3.5 to 8.5 kW, chosen for the fixture they serve rather than for the whole building.
It comes down to power and the temperature of the incoming water. An 8.5 kW unit lifts roughly 5 litres a minute by 25 °C, which runs one shower with a water-saving head when the mains arrive at 15 °C or warmer. Colder supply or a rain shower head needs more power, or a lower flow. Send us the inlet temperature and the fitting, and we will match the rating.
A dedicated single-phase circuit sized for the unit (an 8.5 kW heater draws close to 37 A at 230 V), a cold-water feed and a wall that takes the weight. Both current models are IPX4-rated, so they can sit beside a basin or inside a shower area. The cable and breaker follow local wiring rules, and a licensed electrician should connect it.
Tankless suits a room with its own bathroom far from the central hot-water loop: nothing to reheat between stays and no cupboard given over to a cylinder. A storage tank or a central commercial water heater is the better choice when several outlets run at once, as in a spa or a row of staff showers at shift change.
