Ice crushers & shavers

Ice crushers and shavers — machines that take finished ice and turn it into crushed, flaked or snow ice for juleps, bingsu and shaved-ice desserts, at the pace a bar or dessert counter works.

Frequently asked questions

Does an ice crusher make its own ice?

No — it processes ice you already have, so it sits downstream of an ice maker rather than replacing one. A machine that freezes its own snow ice is a different class and lives under ice makers.

Crusher or shaver?

A crusher breaks cubes into irregular chips for juleps, tiki and blended drinks; a shaver planes a block into fine snow for bingsu and shaved-ice desserts. Some units do both.

How much ice can one get through in a shift?

Ratings run from a few kilos a minute on a countertop shaver to several hundred kilos an hour on a floor crusher. Tell us your peak and we'll size it.
